Another beautiful sunset on Table Rock Lake

High score in laser tag - Ice Man - Kevin.

Dinner at The White Fish
Is it possible to need a vacation from your vacation? Hmmm ~maybe all we need is a good night's rest tonight! :) Today, we enjoyed the Brushey Creek Lazy River ~ then, we went into Branson for some more fun. We ended up eating at the World Famous White Fish Restaurant. The place is right on Lake Taneycomo and is on pontoons. Whenever a boat would go by, we would feel the waves! Following lunch, we stopped again at Bass Pro Shop (where Terri & Alyssa had fun with the camera . . . see photos). Then, it was off to Laser Tag!! A great time was had by all. Mrs. Popo says, "It's more fun shooting people you know."

We'll fly home tomorrow.

Terri & Alyssa

Tyler in a back flip motion~

SIX HOURS ON TABLE ROCK LAKE:

Lots of tubing, rock jumping, rope swinging, floating, cruising . . .

Some of the rock cliffs were about 35 or 40ft tall- crazy kids!

So last night we enjoyed Pierce Arrow. Great humor - Unfortunately, Tyler was just plain tired and missed some of the show.

So, we have sprung a leak in Kathy & Paul's bedroom! Maintainence believes it is from the rain~ we are trying to talk them into another cabin - or at least a free night! We'll see what happens. Update - still leaking today. We got 50% off this cabin and we will move some of us to another cabin to avoid using the suspect shower upstairs. They've been real nice about it here!
Another great closing ceremonies- Chancey really knows how to relate to the kids (and the parents too)! Terri received a "Hero" award, Barnabas The Encourager, and the Endurance and Flexibility Award. Tyler received the "Total Release" award and the Diligence and Integrity" Award. Chancey challenges us all to be renewed in our faith and encouraged us to teach and promote "victory in values." It would be great to be here again next year.

Picking up their belongings - Big Cedar Lodge has a perk where they do all Kanakuk campers laundry for free. How nice. We dropped all their stuff off to be cleaned. Terri had much laundry - Ty had hardly had anything. He must have worn the same clothes all week . . .

Chancey welcomes the parents . . .

BoldToday we were up early to get to camp by 7:30. The camp is nestled back in the woods ~ it sure became their second home over the last week. Here are a few camp pics . . .

Dinner at Devil's Pool Lodge

We had a nice evening out - and the temperature finally cooled off a bit!

Me on the rope swing~
Jumping the rock cliffs . . .

Kathy's turn ~ yes, she even got her hair wet! :)

Jump!

Yes, he's still got it!

Nice clear, cool water - not like Florida water. No salt water, no sharks, and even no alligators!
Time to cool off!

Our fun and fearless boat captain.

FUN ON TABLE ROCK LAKE

Wow! We picked Kevin up from the airport & then immediately rented the boat for some fun in the sun. The water was soooo refreshing, not cold, just right. Kevin thought the water could have even been a littler cooler to be perfect. The lake is huge and very deep - some spots were 140ft deep! We jumped from cliffs, tubed (yes, all of us), Keith water skied, we played on the water swing, and just floated around in our life vests ~ enjoying every minute. I think we were out there about 4 or 5 hours. What a perfect day!

AT BUZZARD BAR
We went down to the basement, where the real patrons go to Buzzard Bar. The Singing Cowboy entertained us . . . he seemed to like Christian the best . . . the cowboy was funny, but a little ornery.

There are a few places on property where you actually drive through the falls. The falls begin at the top of the hill at Falls Lodge and keeps flowing down the hill across roads and under bridges. It's unique!

The Bent Hook marina at Big Cedar. We'll take a boat out tomorrow when Kevin gets here.

Hotter than??

Cooling off at the Lazy River.

More dead animals at Falls Lodge - I meant the bear - not the guys!!

Our one bedroom rustic cabin-

Well, today (Tuesday) has just been incredible - other than the fact that Terri's phone alarm woke us up at 4:45am!! Don't worry - we were still able to fall back asleep again. Feeling like enjoying the beautiful grounds & sights, we both went out running. (Ok, so Keith ran & I walked - too many hills for this flatfooted Floridian!) We checked out the marina, the jogging trail, fitness center, and even spent the afternoon with the Popovich family at the lazy river. It sure was great to cool off! (Did I mention it is HOT?) :)
Well . . . we saw a whole new side to America last night. The Baldknobbers Jamboree was very entertaining ~ great songs & fancy costuming. Very funny too, I think Keith & I enjoyed listening to the man behind us as he was watching the show. He was gonna "bust a gut." He sure got his moneys worth and more - it seemed to us he was a part of the show. :)

The wall decoration/scenery at the store - beautiful.

Pretty flowers in Branson

We're Here

So . . . we arrived at the Springfield airport, got our rental car, and drove to Branson. It was about a 30 minute drive to Branson. We were surprised by the heat - it was 97 degrees! We are hoping the kids are getting some relief at camp from the shade/trees. And I thought Florida was hot?? After driving around a bit, we found a great restaurant with the whole outdoor motif going on ~ it was right next to Bass Pro Shops store and it was right on the water (Lake Taneycomo). Of course, we walked around Bass Pro Shops after lunch & headed to Big Cedar Lodge (which is owned by the Bass Pro Shops guy John Morris). See the connections!! Driving into the property, you actually drive your car through 2 running streams. Our cabin in overlooking a part of Table Rock Lake - although you can't see the water too well through the trees. We have dead animals in our cabin: 3 dear head, 2 ducks, and 2 foxes. It is quiet here, Keith has already begun reading his book ~
